About Wendy
Wendy Van de Poll is an artist, international bestselling author, animal communicator, and lifelong student of the natural world. Her work is rooted in a deep connection to animals and the places they inhabit—a connection that has shaped her life, her creative work, and the way she supports others.
With a Master of Science in wolf ecology and a background as a wildlife biologist, Wendy brings together scientific knowledge, creativity, intuition, and compassion in her work with animals and people. She studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and is a licensed massage therapist for humans, horses, and hounds. These diverse experiences have given Wendy a unique perspective on the ways animals and people connect, communicate, heal, and learn from one another. Her work continues to bring those connections together through art, writing, education, and her work with animals and their people.

Wendy’s lifelong connection to the natural world is at the heart of her creative work. Her experiences studying and observing wildlife have shaped the way she sees animals—not simply as subjects, but as individuals with their own stories, personalities, and presence.

Wendy is an International Bestselling Author whose writing explores animals, connection, grief, and the extraordinary relationships we share with them. She also writes paranormal cozy mysteries under the pen name Melanie Snow.
Wendy has been communicating with animals since she was five years old. Today, she works with animals and their people around the world, offering a grounded and respectful approach to animal communication and mediumship.
She communicates with companion animals, animals who have passed, wild animals, and animals who appear in dreams.
