I have been listening to animals for most of my life.
As a child, I noticed things about animals that I couldn’t quite explain. I would sense their feelings, their needs, and sometimes even a thought or message that seemed to arrive without words.
Although I didn’t understand it at the time, these early experiences would eventually lead me to my work in Animal Communication and Mediumship.
A Childhood Connection with Animals
As children, we often accept what we experience without questioning it. For me, animals simply had a way of talking to me, and I seemed to understand some of what they were saying.
I didn’t have a name for it. I didn’t think of it as a gift. Instead, it was simply part of my relationship with animals.
However, it wasn’t until I was much older that something happened that changed everything.
When Animal Communication Became Clear
At the time, I was a licensed massage therapist working with humans, horses, and hounds. Through this work, I learned to become deeply aware of subtle changes in an animal’s body.
For example, I learned to notice a change in breathing, a shift in muscle tension, a movement beneath my hands, or the smallest change in an animal’s expression.
As a result, I became increasingly receptive to the many ways animals express themselves.
The Horse Who Became My Teacher
One horse I regularly worked with began sending me messages.
I wasn’t trying to communicate with him. I wasn’t sitting down and asking questions. Instead, the messages simply began to come.
He wanted to do dressage, while his humans insisted on hunting and jumping.
Sometimes I would receive an image. Other times, a feeling or words would come into my awareness. Occasionally, there was simply a knowing—a quiet understanding that seemed to arrive beyond ordinary observation.
Initially, I questioned these experiences. However, as I continued working with him, I began to listen more closely.
Eventually, I realized something profound: this wasn’t new.
I had been experiencing this kind of connection since childhood. I had simply never recognized it or given it a name.
That horse opened a door I had apparently been standing beside for years.
Opening the Door to Animal Communication and Mediumship
My work in Animal Communication and Mediumship grew from that experience. Over the years, it has continued to evolve through my relationships with animals, my background in wildlife biology, my years working with horses and hounds, and my life alongside animals in the natural world.
Today, I think of Animal Communication less as “talking to animals” and more as deep listening.
Furthermore, my experiences have taught me that communication is not limited to spoken language.
Understanding the Language of Animals
Animals communicate constantly through movement, sound, scent, behavior, emotion, presence, and relationship.
In my experience, intuitive Animal Communication offers another way of becoming receptive to that information.
Moreover, my work in Animal Communication and Mediumship doesn’t end with the animal. It also extends to the people who love them, especially when they are facing illness, end-of-life decisions, or the death of a beloved companion.
Honoring the Bond Through Pet Loss Grief Coaching
In addition to my work in Animal Communication and Mediumship, I am a Pet Loss Grief Coach, supporting people through one of the most difficult experiences they may ever face—the illness, anticipated loss, or death of a beloved companion animal.
These two areas of my work are deeply connected.
When we love an animal, we develop a relationship filled with shared experiences, rituals, comfort, laughter, and memories. When that physical relationship changes or ends, the love doesn’t simply disappear.
Instead, grief becomes an expression of that love and the relationship we shared.
Sometimes, people need a place to talk about what they are experiencing. Other times, they want help preparing for an animal’s end of life. Still others may be searching for reassurance or a deeper sense of connection after their companion has died.
Through my work in Animal Communication, Mediumship, and Pet Loss Grief Coaching, I offer a compassionate space where these experiences and relationships can be honored.
My role is not to tell someone how they should grieve.
Rather, it is to listen, to support, and to create a space where their relationship with their animal can continue to hold meaning.
What Animal Communication Has Taught Me
Ultimately, my experiences with animals have taught me that communication isn’t always about words.
Sometimes it is about presence.
Sometimes it is about knowing.
And sometimes it is about simply being willing to listen.
Because the relationship between humans and animals has always been a conversation.
Perhaps we have simply forgotten how to recognize the language.
